About

I am a health services researcher interested in alcohol use and misuse among adults with chronic conditions, particularly older adults. My research focuses on the determinants of alcohol use and misuse among this population, its role in the natural history and management of chronic conditions, and policy and clinical approaches to improve outcomes.

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of Maryland School of Public Health. I was previously a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the NHLBI T32 Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology & Prevention Training Program. I received a PhD in health policy from University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health and an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. I was also a NIAAA T32 pre-doctoral fellow at the Alcohol Research Group.
